Dust Collection and Degassing

This category covers two process stages: pulse-jet baghouses collect fumes and particulates from melting and dross operations, while box- or launder-type online degassing units treat molten aluminum before casting to reduce hydrogen and carry out some non-metallic inclusions.

Selection points

  • First determine whether the duty is fume collection or molten-aluminum degassing
  • For dust collection: sources, air volume, concentration, gas temperature, humidity and emission target
  • For degassing: metal flow, alloy grade, hydrogen target and inclusion-control target
  • Duct and stack layout, or launder space, inert-gas supply and filtration conditions
  • Power, control integration and safety requirements
